OUR READING
What the specs
mean on court
On the numbers, the Babolat Air Viper 2026 makes most sense for intermediate left-side players and advanced attackers. It is a weaker choice for beginners, intermediate all-rounders, intermediate right-side players and players with elbow or arm trouble.
A diamond head moves mass towards the tip. The smash and the vibora get easier; defending low balls and volleying off centre get harder. The harder core rewards a fast, clean swing with pace and precision, and punishes late contact.
Against the Babolat Air Viper 2025, the published specs changed in 2 places:
- Weight: 360 to 375 g in 2025, 345 to 365 g in 2026.
- Face: 16K Carbon Fiber in 2025, 16K Carbon in 2026.
If the older Babolat Air Viper 2025 is on sale, it is usually the better value: most season changes are cosmetic or small.

FAQ
Questions about the
Babolat Air Viper 2026
Is the Babolat Air Viper 2026 good for beginners?
No. Its diamond shape rules it out for a first racket in our engine. A round, soft racket forgives far more while your timing develops; see our beginner racket guide.
Is the Babolat Air Viper 2026 a power or a control racket?
It plays as a power racket. The diamond shape and medium to high balance put the sweet spot high on the face, which adds power on the smash.
How heavy is the Babolat Air Viper 2026?
The manufacturer lists it at 345 to 365 g. Most padel rackets sit between 350 and 375 g; this one is on the light side, quick at the net and easier on the arm.
Is the Babolat Air Viper 2026 good for tennis elbow?
For a player with arm trouble it scores 65 out of 98, poor fit. A softer core would absorb more of the impact. See a physio if the pain persists.
How much does the Babolat Air Viper 2026 cost?
The recommended retail price is €320. UK shops usually sell below RRP, and the price drops further once the next season's model arrives.
