OUR READING
What the specs
mean on court
On the numbers, the Star Vie Basalto Pro 2025 makes most sense for advanced attackers. It is a weaker choice for beginners, intermediate all-rounders, intermediate right-side players and players with elbow or arm trouble.
A teardrop head is the middle ground: a little more reach and power than a round frame, a bigger sweet spot than a diamond. The harder core rewards a fast, clean swing with pace and precision, and punishes late contact.
Against the Star Vie Basalto Pro 2024, the published specs changed in 2 places:
- Face: 3K Carbon + Basalt in 2024, Double layer Basalt + 3K Carbon in 2025.
- RRP: €231 in 2024, €249 in 2025.
If the older Star Vie Basalto Pro 2024 is on sale, it is usually the better value: most season changes are cosmetic or small.

FAQ
Questions about the
Star Vie Basalto Pro 2025
Is the Star Vie Basalto Pro 2025 good for beginners?
It scores 63 out of 98 for a beginner in our match engine, which is poor fit, ranking #721 of 862 eligible rackets. A rounder, softer racket will forgive more while your timing develops.
Is the Star Vie Basalto Pro 2025 a power or a control racket?
It plays as an all-round racket. The teardrop shape and medium to high balance sit between round and diamond, trading a little forgiveness for some extra power.
How heavy is the Star Vie Basalto Pro 2025?
The manufacturer lists it at 350 to 385 g. Most padel rackets sit between 350 and 375 g; this one is in the middle of that range.
Is the Star Vie Basalto Pro 2025 good for tennis elbow?
We do not recommend it with elbow trouble: the hard core transmits more shock. See our guide to the best padel rackets for tennis elbow, and see a physio if it hurts.
How much does the Star Vie Basalto Pro 2025 cost?
The recommended retail price is €249. UK shops usually sell below RRP, and the price drops further once the next season's model arrives.
