THE RANGE
The Joma lines,
and what each is for
Joma has 14 models in the catalogue. Almost all of them belong to one of these families, so knowing the families is most of the work.
| Line | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Gold Pro | The flagship. A diamond carbon frame with one of the highest power ratings of any racket in the catalogue. |
| Slam | The diamond line, in three versions: Pro with a 3K carbon face, Flex and Soft in fibreglass. |
| Tournament | The teardrop line, with the same Pro, Flex and Soft structure. The Tournament Pro is the all-rounder of the range. |
WHAT MAKES JOMA DIFFERENT
A Spanish sportswear house
with a small, current range
Joma is the Spanish sportswear company founded in 1965 near Toledo, best known in the UK for football boots and team kits. Its padel range is small and simple. There are three lines, the Gold Pro, the diamond Slam and the teardrop Tournament, and the Slam and Tournament each come in three versions: Pro with a carbon face, Flex and Soft with fibreglass. Colourways are sold as separate models, which is why the catalogue lists more rackets than there are designs.
Every one of the 14 Joma rackets we track is from 2024 or 2025. 57% are diamond and 43% teardrop, and there is no round Joma at all. None of them is marked hard: Black EVA is the most common core, and 4 are marked soft or medium-soft. Faces are 3K carbon on the Pro frames and fibreglass on the rest. Prices run from €100 to €200, with a median of €200, and no Joma costs more than that top figure.
That price ceiling is the reason to look at Joma. The carbon Tournament Pro and Slam Pro are rated 8.4 to 8.5 at €200 RRP, which is less than most brands charge for those ratings. The Tournament Pro suits most club players; the Gold Pro is for left-side players who finish points. If you want a round frame for control or for your arm, Joma has nothing for you: look at Star Vie or Royal Padel.

Weight is the manufacturer's stated range. Balance is where the mass sits: low means towards the handle, high means towards the head. Price band is the recommended retail price in euros (entry under 120, mid 120 to 200, premium 200 to 300, pro over 300); UK street prices are usually lower. Level is our reading of the shape, balance and core, not a rule.
BY SHAPE
Which shape
do you need?
Teardrop: Joma Pro Tournament 2.0 Azul-Rojo 2025
Joma has 6 teardrop models. This shape suits the largest number of club players, because it gives some power without shrinking the sweet spot. Our current pick from the range is the Joma Pro Tournament 2.0 Azul-Rojo 2025, at around €200.
Diamond: Joma Gold Pro 2025
Joma has 8 diamond models. This shape suits advanced attacking players who finish points with the smash and hit the middle of the strings consistently. Our current pick from the range is the Joma Gold Pro 2025, at around €200.
HOW TO CHOOSE
Buying a Joma
without buying the wrong one
Brand is the last thing that should decide a padel racket, and the first thing most people decide. Once you are inside a range, three specs settle the question.
Shape decides forgiveness
Round puts the sweet spot in the middle of the face where you actually hit the ball. Diamond moves it up towards the tip, which buys power and costs you every off-centre shot. Teardrop sits between the two and is the right answer for most club players. Joma covers teardrop, diamond, so you do not need to leave the brand to change shape.
Core decides comfort
Soft cores hold the ball longer, forgive a slow swing and transmit less shock to the elbow. Hard EVA cores are more powerful and more precise but punish poor timing. If you have ever had tennis elbow, this single spec matters more than shape, weight and brand combined.
Your side matters more than your level
The left side finishes points and usually wants a higher balance. The right side builds points and covers the middle, so it usually wants a larger sweet spot. Two players of the same level on opposite sides should not buy the same racket.
Then let the data narrow it
The table above is the fastest filter: read down the shape, balance and core columns before you look at a single price, and the level column tells you who each frame was built for. Our racket finder does this across all 1,418 rackets in seven questions, and if you have run a match analysis it uses your real technique scores instead of your own estimate of your level. If you are still choosing between brands, start with our guide to the best padel rackets or, for a first racket, the beginner picks.
FAQ
Questions about
Joma rackets
Are Joma padel rackets good?
For the price, yes. Every Joma racket we track is rated 7.9 or higher in the catalogue, and the carbon Gold Pro, Slam Pro and Tournament Pro frames sit at 8.4 to 8.6 at €200 RRP, which is less than most brands charge for a racket with those ratings.
Does Joma make a round padel racket?
Not in the current range. Every Joma we track is a teardrop or a diamond. If you want a round frame for control or for arm comfort, look at another brand; if you want a forgiving Joma, the Tournament Soft and Tournament Flex are the teardrops with the softest feel.
What is the difference between Joma Pro, Flex and Soft?
The face and the price. The Pro versions have a 3K carbon face and cost about €200 RRP. Flex and Soft have fibreglass faces, which feel softer and forgive more, at about €140 and €100. The Soft versions are the most comfortable of the three.
