The best padel racket for tennis elbow has a soft or medium-soft core, a round shape and a low balance, and weighs about 345 to 360 g. That mix sends less shock up the arm and asks less of the forearm. A racket does not treat an injury. If your elbow hurts, see a physio first.

## The seven picks compared on specs

Specs are the manufacturers', ratings are the catalogue's. Read core and balance first: they matter more for the arm than the brand.

| Model | Shape | Weight | Balance | Core | Surface | Price band | Level |

Weight is the manufacturer's stated range. Balance is where the mass sits: low means towards the handle, high means towards the head. Price band is the recommended retail price in euros (entry under 120, mid 120 to 200, premium 200 to 300, pro over 300); UK street prices are usually lower. Level is our reading of the shape, balance and core, not a rule.

## Arm-friendly specs and specs to avoid

A quick reference for the racket wall. Each line is a spec the manufacturer lists.

| Spec | Look for | Avoid | Why |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Core feel | Soft or medium-soft | Hard or medium-hard | A soft core absorbs more of the impact before it reaches your hand. |
| Shape | Round | Diamond | A central sweet spot means fewer off-centre hits that twist the racket. |
| Balance | Low or low-medium | High or medium-high | Weight near the handle asks less of the forearm to hold the head up. |
| Weight | About 345 to 360 g | Over 370 g, or very light | Heavy tires the arm; very light lets hard balls push the racket back. |
| Face | Fibreglass or soft carbon | Stiff high-K carbon on a hard core | Fibreglass flexes more on contact. |

## How a padel racket can load the elbow

### First, the pain

Tennis elbow is the common name for pain on the outside of the elbow, where the forearm muscles that lift the wrist attach. Padel players get it too. We are not doctors, and a racket is not a treatment. If your elbow hurts during or after play, stop, and see a physiotherapist or your GP. They can tell you whether it is tennis elbow, how long to rest and when to return. What a racket can do is avoid making the load worse once you are back on court.

### Core feel: the biggest single choice

Padel rackets have no strings. The ball hits a solid face over a foam or EVA core, and the core decides how much of that impact travels into the handle. Manufacturers grade feel from Soft to Hard. In our catalogue of 1,418 rackets, only 31 are rated Soft, 563 medium-soft, 478 medium, 281 medium-hard and 65 Hard.

The catalogue ratings show the trade-off. Soft rackets average 6.0 for power and 8.3 for rebound, which is the easy depth from the back of the court. Hard rackets average 9.2 for power and 7.6 for rebound. A hard core gives more back to a fast swing and less to a slow one, so it asks the player to supply the pace. For an arm that is already tired, that is the wrong way round. For tennis elbow, choose soft or medium-soft and avoid anything listed as Hard.

### Shape and sweet spot

An off-centre hit makes the racket twist in your hand, and the forearm muscles work to stop it. Round rackets place the sweet spot in the centre of the face, where most contact happens. Across the catalogue, round rackets average 8.2 for sweet spot, teardrops 8.1 and diamonds 7.8. Diamonds also carry their weight in the head: of the diamonds with a listed balance, 156 of 233 have a high balance. That combination is built for the smash, and it is the one to leave on the wall.

### Balance and weight

Balance tells you where the weight sits. A low balance keeps it near the hand, so the forearm does less work to hold the racket head up between shots and to bring it through on the volley. That matters more than the grams on the box. A 360 g racket with a low balance can feel lighter than a 345 g one with a high balance.

Very light is not automatically better. A racket under about 340 g has less mass to hold its line against a hard ball, so the arm does the stabilising instead. Our [lightweight padel racket](https://padelaiapp.com/rackets/lightweight-padel-racket) guide covers the full range of padel racket weight. For most adults with a sore elbow, 345 to 360 g with a low or low-medium balance is the sensible middle.

### It is not only the racket

Grip size, grip pressure and technique play a part. A grip that is too thin makes you squeeze harder; one or two overgrips build it up. Hitting late, with the wrist flicking at the ball, loads the same muscles as a stiff racket. A coach can spot this in a lesson. In the Padel AI app, [padel video analysis](https://padelaiapp.com/features/padel-video-analysis) scores your technique from a filmed match, and the [AI racket finder](https://padelaiapp.com/features/padel-racket-finder) uses those real scores, together with your arm answer, to build the shortlist. If you are also new to the game, the [best padel racket for beginners](https://padelaiapp.com/rackets/best-padel-racket-for-beginners) guide overlaps with this one: soft, round and forgiving.

### Brands with soft round lines

Adidas, Nox and Bullpadel make the most current round rackets with a soft or medium-soft core: 13, 12 and 10. Star Vie makes fewer, but its Titania, Metheora and Astrum lines hold several of the highest sweet spot ratings. Nox puts its softer HR3 cores in the Equation range, and Siux in the Valkiria range. See the [Star Vie](https://padelaiapp.com/rackets/star-vie) and [Nox](https://padelaiapp.com/rackets/nox) brand pages for every model. Players who want the precision of a control racket but a softer feel should also read our guide to the [best padel racket for control](https://padelaiapp.com/rackets/best-padel-racket-for-control), and check the feel column before buying: several of the top control rackets are Hard.

## Small changes that help the arm too

### Check your grip size

If your fingers overlap your palm a lot, the grip is thin and you squeeze harder. Add an overgrip and see if you can hold the racket more loosely.

### Hold the racket loosely between shots

A tight grip all rally keeps the forearm muscles working. Relax the hand between shots and firm it only at contact.

### Play the ball in front of you

Late contact makes the wrist do the work. Watch a video of yourself: if the ball is level with your body at contact, you are late.

### Ease back in after a break

Several weeks off and then three matches in a weekend is a common pattern before arm pain. Build the hours up slowly, and follow your physio's plan.

## Questions about padel rackets and tennis elbow

### What is the best padel racket for tennis elbow?

One with a soft or medium-soft core, a round shape and a low or low-medium balance. Our best overall is the Star Vie Titania Lite 2025, around €205. On a budget, the Nox Equation Soft Advanced 2026 at around €125.

### Can a padel racket cause tennis elbow?

A racket alone is rarely the only cause. A hard core, a head-heavy balance and a small sweet spot can add load to the forearm, together with technique and how much you play. If you have pain, see a physio.

### Should I play padel with tennis elbow?

Ask a physiotherapist or your GP. They can tell you whether to rest and how to return. A softer racket can help once you are back, but it does not replace their advice.

### Is a soft or hard padel racket better for the elbow?

Soft or medium-soft. A soft core absorbs more of the impact and gives more rebound, so you need less effort for depth. Hard rackets suit fast, clean swings and load the arm more.

### Is a lighter padel racket better for tennis elbow?

Balance matters more than the number. A low balance at 345 to 360 g is usually kinder than a very light racket, which can let hard balls push it back and make the arm work to steady it.
