- 30 lessons
- About 5 minutes each
- XP, streaks and levels

## Eight units, beginner to pro level

Each unit unlocks the next, so the order does the teaching for you. You can jump ahead if you already know the basics.

| Unit | Title | What you learn |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | Padel Basics | What padel is, the court and its zones, and how to keep score. |
| 2 | The Rules | The underhand serve, how the walls work, and every way a point is lost. |
| 3 | Positioning | The three zones, where to stand, and how to move as a pair instead of two singles players. |
| 4 | The Shots | Groundstrokes and volleys, then the lob, the bandeja and the smash. |
| 5 | Winning Strategy | Why patience wins padel points, how to take and hold the net, and how to pick targets. |
| 6 | Advanced Shots | The chiquita, the dejada, the gancho, and the smash variations including por tres. |
| 7 | Game Situations | Left side and right side roles, transitions from defence to attack, and handling pressure. |
| 8 | Pro Level | Serve patterns, reading the opposing pair, and how the professional game is actually played. |

## Read a card, then prove you got it

Each lesson is a handful of cards. It takes about five minutes and it does not require a court.

### A teaching card

One idea per card, with a court diagram where position matters. No wall of text, no twenty minute video you will not finish.

### A quick check

A short question to confirm the idea landed. Getting it wrong shows you the explanation again rather than moving on.

### XP, a streak and a level

Finishing a lesson earns XP. Coming back tomorrow keeps your streak. It is a small trick, and it is the reason people finish the curriculum instead of abandoning it at unit two.

## Useful whether it is your first week or your fifth year

### New players who came from tennis

Units 1 to 3 unlearn the tennis habits that cost padel points, especially standing too far back and refusing to use the glass.

### Club players stuck at 3.5

Units 3 and 5 are the ones that move players. Most 3.5 players do not lack shots, they lack positioning and shot selection.

### Players who only play, never train

You can finish a unit on the bus. It is the closest thing to studying the game without booking a coach.

### Anyone who wants the vocabulary

Bandeja, víbora, chiquita, dejada, gancho, por tres. Knowing the names makes every coaching tip and every match commentary readable.

## How long it actually takes to learn padel

Padel has the friendliest first hour of any racket sport. The court is small, the walls keep the ball in play, and the serve is underhand, so a complete beginner can rally within twenty minutes. That is why it grew so fast, and it is also why so many players stall at 3.5 a year later.

### Week one: you can already play

The rules take about ten minutes. The scoring is borrowed from tennis, so 15, 30, 40 and deuce carry over exactly. The one thing that surprises everyone is that the ball stays live off the glass, which feels wrong for the first three sessions and obvious after that.

### Month one to three: the walls stop being scary

Most beginners run backwards away from the ball and try to hit it before it reaches the glass. Learning to let the ball pass you, wait, and take it on the rebound is the single biggest jump in the first months. Unit 2 and Unit 3 cover this.

### Month three to twelve: positioning, not shots

This is where nearly everyone plateaus, and almost always for the same reason: they practise shots and never learn where to stand. Padel is played as a pair moving as one unit, and two players who both drift to the middle lose to a weaker pair who hold their lines. Unit 3 and Unit 5 are the units that move players here.

### Year one and beyond: the bandeja decides it

The gap between 3.5 and 4.5 is essentially one shot. Below 4.0 a player answers a lob with a flat smash, loses the net, and goes back to defending. From 4.0 up they answer it with a bandeja, keep the net, and win the point three balls later. If you learn one thing properly, learn that.

### Coming from tennis

Tennis players start ahead on contact and behind on everything else. The habits that cost you points are standing too deep, hitting too hard, refusing to use the glass, and treating the lob as a defensive last resort instead of the most important shot in the sport. Expect to be worse than you feel you should be for about a month.

## Questions about the padel lessons

### Are the padel lessons suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. Unit 1 starts with what padel is, what the court looks like and how scoring works, so no prior experience is assumed. If you already play, you can skip ahead to the unit that matches your level.

### How long does each lesson take?

About five minutes. Each lesson is a small set of teaching cards and quick checks, designed to be finished in one sitting rather than saved for later.

### Do I need to be on a padel court to use them?

No. The lessons are entirely in the app and use court diagrams to show positioning. They are meant for the time between matches, not during them.

### How many padel lessons are there in total?

Thirty lessons across eight units, running from the basic rules through positioning and the main shots to advanced shots, game situations and professional patterns.

### What is the streak for?

It tracks consecutive days on which you completed at least one lesson. It exists because learning a sport in short daily sessions works far better than one long session a month, and a visible streak is the simplest thing that makes people come back.
