## A scoreboard you wear

The same scoring engine as the phone, on a screen you already look at.

### Tap to score, without the phone

The watch shows the live game, set and match score. Tap the pair that won the point and the score updates in the same moment on both devices.

### It stays in step with the phone

Score on the watch or score on the phone, in any order. The two talk to each other, so the person holding either device always sees the same match.

### The match becomes a workout

Start a match and the watch starts a workout, so your session lands in Apple Health with the heart rate and the calories, next to every other sport you play.

### The score travels with it

The workout carries the final score and the players, so the entry in Health is a record of that match and not just an anonymous hour of exercise.

## Apple Health has no padel

This is worth saying plainly, because it will look like a bug otherwise. Apple Health does not have a padel workout type. The racquet sports it offers are badminton, racquetball, squash, table tennis, tennis and pickleball, and that is the complete list.

So the workout is recorded as **Tennis**, and it is tagged with the brand name "Padel" plus your score and your players. In the Health app the row will read Tennis. The heart rate, the calories and the duration are all correct and all yours. We would rather tell you than let you hunt for a setting that does not exist.

## Padel on Apple Watch, answered

### Do I need the iPhone app as well?

Yes. The watch app is a companion to the Padel AI iPhone app and installs with it. Once a match is running you can leave the phone in your bag.

### Does the watch app cost anything?

No. Scoring is free on both the phone and the watch. Only the AI video analysis needs a subscription.

### Will my padel session show in Apple Health?

Yes, as a Tennis workout carrying the brand name Padel, because Apple Health has no padel type. Duration, heart rate and calories are recorded normally and count towards your rings.

### Can I start the match on the watch?

The match is set up on the phone, where you name the players and choose the format. After that the watch can run the whole match.
